  • Creating Emotional Balance and Healthy Relationships

    Date/Time: Thursdays, 1:00-2:30pm
    Location: San Clemente, Arrowhead 1108
    Co-Leaders: Karen Dias, Psy.D. and Kimia Poosti, M.A.
    This is a skills-focused group based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), designed to help students learn to better identify and manage their emotions, to improve their interpersonal and relationship skills, and to learn more effective coping skills.

  • Enhancing Wellness and Managing Depression

    Date/Time: Thursdays, 2:30-4:00pm
    Location: Main CAPS Office
    Leaders: Deirde Rainer, Ph.D
    This group will include peer support discussions about improving mood, motivation, and managing depression. The group will include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as how to recognize and disengage from negative thoughts and rumination.

  • Family and Relationships Groups (ADP)

    Date/Time: Fridays, 10:30-11:45am
    Location: Embarcadero Hall 1105

    This is a 6-week process and support group for students who have loved ones with substance use issues or other mental health problems. Learn to identify your role, set boundaries, get support, and take care of yourself so that you can thrive.   • Graduate Student Process Group (Thursdays)

    Designed for graduate students who want to explore ways to build interpersonal relationships, work on the interpersonal aspects of anxiety and depression, resolve problems and conflicts, and increase awareness of their actions and communication styles.

    A group is designed to provide a supportive and safe environment for female-identified students who have experienced sexual assault as an adult.

  • Healing With Yoga and Sound

    *Prerequisite-Students must have completed Yoga as Healing
    This group is for students who have completed Yoga as Healing and are wanting to continue their healing through the practice of yoga. This group will focus on healing the body through trauma-informed yoga and incorporate sound meditation and drumming.

  • Mindfulness and Compassion

    In this group, members will gain a foundation in mindfulness, compassion and nature connection practices through guided meditations with a focus on compassion for self and others.

  • Peace with Food

  • Transfer Shock!

  • TRANSformative

    Location: SRB - Women's Center Conference Room

    This is a weekly group for trans and non-binary-identifying students to address issues related to transitioning, misgendering, bodies, relationships, medical care, transphobia, and general life topics. This group provides an opportunity for members to share their experiences with others in a “brave” space.

  • True Selves Process Group

  • Yoga as Healing

    These group yoga classes will provide survivors of sexual violence a means of becoming reacquainted with their bodies and allow exploration of the benefits of mindfulness.  Open to all genders.

  • Yoga for Depression

    These group yoga classes will help members manage symptoms of depression (and anxiety) through the use of yoga poses, breathing practices, guided meditation, and yoga principles.

  • A Tribe Called Sis

    A Tribe Called Sis is a Sister Circle that provides a space for all Black women at UCSB to experience healing, give and receive support to one another, and explore issues unique to the experience of Black women.
