Welcome to CAPS! Thank you for taking the time to learn about our services and providers. I identify as a first generation immigrant Latina from Lima, Peru. I feel honored to be able to support and assist individuals that are facing life challenges while in their journey of attaining higher education. My clinical experience includes working with special populations faced with immigration challenges, acculturation, and Latino (a) Mental Health. I have worked with adults as well as youth and families faced with Depression, Anxiety, Trauma and family issues. I've had the privilege of working with military units. As an embedded provider I've offered briefs on mental health and wellness, served as an advocate and offered individual clinical services for service members in the areas of Trauma, Depression, Anxiety and Adjustment. I have worked closely with individuals identifying as minorities in larger systems. My passion continues to be in the area of wellness, navigating the world of emotions, building trust, and self-compassion. I value connectedness within self and among communities. I strive to offer a space of acceptance and respect. I am trained in CBT, CPT, W.E.T. and use other therapeutic skills/approaches based on individual needs and interests. When I am not working with others, I enjoy hikes, biking, yoga, exploring new places, cooking and spending time with loved ones.
