Hello and Salaam! My name is Anam Khan, and I identify as a Pakistani, Muslim woman from the Bay Area. I’m honored to serve the student body here at UC Santa Barbara and look forward to supporting you. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about CAPS services and our providers!
I view therapy as a collaborative process and strive to create a space where you feel empowered, supported, and honored as you navigate your feelings and experiences. I am deeply committed to integrating social justice and multiculturalism through a trauma-informed lens—working not only toward individual healing, but also collective healing and equity.
My therapeutic approach centers on honoring your identity, culture, and lived experiences, while exploring how the systems around us shape our mental health and well-being. My professional interests include intergenerational and complex trauma, identity exploration, emotional regulation, and grief. I also have a special focus on working with individuals from marginalized and underrepresented communities, with a particular passion for supporting Muslim and South Asian students.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy baking and cooking, crafting, and spending time with my two cats, Sage and Latte.
