Often, students find that one therapy session is just what they need to address their concerns. A single, goal-oriented, therapy session provides students with strategies to help improve a particular situation or goal. You will come to your appointment with a particular goal in mind.  You will need to arrive 20-30 minutes early to allow time for extra paperwork.  You and the mental health clinician will discuss your concerns and where you want help. The clinician will then meet separately with a team of clinicians to review what was discussed and to come up with as many ideas as possible for you.  After the team meets, your clinician will again meet with you individually to share the thoughts, strategies, and resources the team recommended.

If you decide to pursue Single Session Therapy at CAPS, your single session appointment will be scheduled at the time of your Brief Assessment. Typically, single session appointments are scheduled within 7 days of your Brief Assessment.
