Pre-Doctoral Psychology Intern
University of Wisconsin--Madison, Counseling Psychology
CAPS Main Office
Hi, I’m Kevin (he/him), a pre-doctoral psychology intern at UCSB CAPS and a Ph.D. candidate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. My approach to therapy is collaborative and strengths-based, rooted in the belief that growth and liberation can arise naturally when we make space for the full range of our experiences. I draw from values-based and relational perspectives, helping clients identify ways they might align daily life with their core values, while also exploring how relationship patterns and broader cultural and systemic contexts — such as racism, sexism, ableism, or classism — affect our well-being.
In addition to clinical work, my research focuses on meditation-based and mobile health interventions, climate change-related distress, and community-based approaches to supporting psychosocial well-being. I also love teaching psychology to both undergraduate and graduate students and will begin a faculty role at UNC–Asheville next year.
In my personal life, I love spending time in Brazil with my wife and her family, and I am always up for any kind of outdoor adventure — especially wilderness canoeing in the north woods of Wisconsin and paragliding above the beautiful mountains and coastlines of Santa Barbara County.
