Hello and welcome to CAPS!
I'm honored to be part of the UCSB community, supporting students as they navigate this unique and often challenging chapter of life. Before joining CAPS, I spent over 13 years at UCSB's Student Health as a behavioral health therapist with the Alcohol & Drug Program.
My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where students feel comfortable reflecting on their experiences- what's going well, what might feel a bit off, and where they might want a little extra support. I'm passionate about helping students build lives that feel balanced, meaningful and fulfilling.
My areas of interest and expertise include substance use and addictive behaviors, mood and anxiety concerns, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and life transitions. I draw from a collaborative, strengths-based approach and use evidence-based interventions tailored to each student’s unique needs and identities.
My previous clinical experience includes working with youth and families in schools, residential treatment programs, and community mental health settings. In addition to individual therapy, I provide motivational interviewing training to the campus community and co-facilitate a DBT skills group at CAPS.
Outside of work I enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
