Hello! My name is Kiah (she/her), and I identify as a cis-gender Canadian woman. I am thrilled to be working with the student body here at UCSB and look forward to collaborating with you to help meet your goals and needs—whatever that looks like for you!

I am a third-year doctoral student at California Lutheran University, with a passion for mental health, accessibility of care, and excellence in care delivery. I believe that the therapeutic process should be individually tailored in a collaborative way to efficiently accomplish your goals using evidence-based interventions. I deeply value the trust and vulnerability inherent in the therapeutic relationship and am committed to fostering an open, safe, and confidential environment where we can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences together. I work from a strengths-based and behavioral approach, integrating third-wave behavioral therapies (DBT, ACT) and solution-focused interviewing to target your therapeutic goals.

For my dissertation, I am researching the efficacy of Single-Session Therapy. I hold an Honours BSc in Psychology from the University of Calgary, and my research interests and experience include self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, justice motive theory, early child development, immigrant health outcomes and experiences, and primary support formation during pregnancy for immigrant women.

In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach with my dog Miller, practicing yoga, hiking, baking, and working on creative projects!
