Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) stands against racism and violence in all its forms that’s aim is to harm and divide people because of our differences. We would like to express our care and compassion for those who have been directly or vicariously impacted by the protests, violence and terrorist attacks that have occurred in our country and abroad.

In the aftermath of these events that are happening more frequently, it is normal to experience a range of feelings, such as sadness, fear, anger, helplessness, or guilt.  It would also be more than understandable for our students who have experienced previous trauma, belong to marginalized and/or under-represented identity groups to be feeling particularly vulnerable.  We encourage you to contact our office if you (or someone you know) would like additional support for coping with current events. Please call (805) 893-4411 or stop by CAPS during regular business hours and let the receptionist know you need to be seen today.
