Hola. Thank you for being here and taking the steps to reach out. It is an honor and privilege to be serving the UCSB student community this year as a postdoctoral fellow. I identify as a Latina, cis-gendered female born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and first-generation college student. I am dedicated to de-stigmatizing mental and fostering a sense of belonging for students in support of their academic career. It is important to me that you have an open, safe, empathic, and nonjudgmental healing space to navigate how I can collaboratively empower and support your journey. I am also bilingual and use Spanish to connect with students. I utilize an integrative approaching using trauma-informed third wave cognitive behavioral therapy, cultural relational therapy, mindful self-compassion, and liberation psychology principles. I am social justice oriented and hold a passion working with historically marginalized populations (e.g., Latinx, BIPOC, undocumented, low income, LGBTQ+, first-generation college students). I also hold a special interest in grief/loss, spirituality, acculturation, racial/trauma, training, outreach, and advocacy.

To balance my work, I enjoy spending time with familia, being near the water, cooking, and learning about other cultures. I am an old soul at heart and enjoy watching Mexican movies like Cantinflas, Pedro Infante, and El Chavo del Ocho.
